When production lines face cooling capacity shortages or space constraints, manufacturers must choose between expanding existing cooling infrastructure or implementing more efficient plug-and-play solutions. The ChillX series of inline process chillers addresses this challenge through modular design and flexible deployment options.

The ChillX series, offering cooling capacities from 1.5 to 10 tons, features a modular architecture that integrates seamlessly with existing cooling systems. This design allows for performance enhancement without requiring complete system overhauls.

Two primary configurations accommodate diverse industrial requirements:

• Cabinet-free models: Ultra-compact units without reservoirs or pumps, designed for integration with external circulation systems.
• 12-inch cabinet models: Incorporate high-performance circulation pumps while maintaining a compact footprint. These require external reservoirs for stable process fluid supply.

The series incorporates industrial-grade components for demanding applications:

• Heat exchange: Utilizes coaxial, shell-and-tube, or brazed plate heat exchangers optimized for reservoir-free operation.
• Compression system: Standard Copeland scroll compressors support cold starts down to -30°F (-34°C).
• Safety certifications: Features flow switch protection, UL-certified electrical components, and full ETL laboratory certification (ID: 3195605), with operational noise below 84 dB.

The system employs PENN A421 (single-stage) or PENN 450 series (dual-stage) controllers for accurate thermal regulation. Voltage compatibility spans multiple configurations:

• 1.5-5 ton units: 230V single-phase
• 3-10 ton units: 230V three-phase
• 4-10 ton units: 460V-480V three-phase
• 7.5-10 ton units: Optional 575V-600V three-phase

Available upgrades include:

• Corrosion-resistant coatings for coastal environments
• Low-temperature operation (25-28°F/-3.9 to -2.2°C output)
• Dual-stage controller upgrades
• Hot gas bypass valves for compressor protection
